The Cabinet of Virtuosity is an instant look at diverse cabinets presenting an eclectic ensemble of curiosities. Here the unifying idea for the selection is virtuosity. Technical and sculptural virtuosity, as well and above all, esthetical virtuosity.
The designers shown represent various movements of sculptural design: organic, minimalist, brutalist as well as virtualist. We have chosen to bring together seemingly opposing works in order to create a resonance effect that leads the audience to discover this fundamental movement that holds the surging renewal of functional sculpture at its core. The majority of these works are commissioned for this occasion and have never been shown before.
